Job Description

1. Regulatory Expertise:

• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of regulatory guidelines, reporting requirements, and industry standards relevant to the bank's operations.

• Interpret complex regulations and ensure the team's activities align with the latest regulatory updates.

• Oversee the preparation and submission of regulatory reports, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.

2. Team Leadership:

• Manage and lead the regulatory reporting team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to the team members and team projects. 

• Assign responsibilities, set priorities, and monitor progress to ensure efficient task execution.

• Foster a collaborative and productive team environment that encourages open communication and knowledge sharing.

3. Strategic Initiatives:

• Assist the Head of Regulatory Reporting in developing and executing the team’s strategic objectives.

• Identify and implement opportunities for process optimization and automation to enhance reporting efficiency.

4. Stakeholder Management:

• Collaborate closely with internal departments such as Risk Management, Compliance, Legal, and Treasury to gather accurate data and ensure consistency in reporting processes.

• Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate seamless information flow and issue resolution.

5. Reporting Process Management:

• Ensure accurate and timely completion of regulatory reports, meeting deadlines and compliance standards.

• Prepare report assigned and ensure timely submission

6. Data Integrity and Validation:

• Implement robust controls to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and completeness of data used in regulatory reports.

• Conduct thorough data reconciliations and validations to address discrepancies before report submissions.

7. Process Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of reporting activities.

• Implement best practices to streamline reporting procedures and reduce manual intervention.

8. Risk Management and Controls:

• Develop and maintain internal controls and governance frameworks to ensure compliance with regulatory reporting standards.

• Monitor and mitigate risks associated with regulatory reporting.

9. Change Management:

• Develop and execute change management plans, including stakeholder communication, training, and support strategies.

10. Issue Management:

• Identify, track, and resolve issues related to regulatory reporting in a timely and effective manner.

• Develop and maintain an issue management framework, including escalation processes and resolution tracking.

11.  Project Management:

• Manage regulatory reporting projects, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and regulatory requirements.

• Execute project plans, set timelines, allocate resources, and monitor progress to ensure successful project delivery.

• Coordinate cross-functional teams and manage dependencies to ensure project milestones are met.

12. Professional Development:

• Stay informed about industry developments, regulatory changes, and best practices in regulatory reporting.

• Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.

13. Quality Assurance:

• Conduct internal reviews and quality checks on regulatory reports to ensure adherence to regulatory standards.

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of reporting processes, data sources, calculations, and validations.

14. Alternate to Regulatory Head:

• Serve as the alternate to the Head of Regulatory Reporting, stepping in to manage the team and ensure continuity during their absence.

• Make strategic decisions and represent the regulatory reporting team in senior management meetings when need arises.

Qualification

• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in the financial services industry, with a focus on regulatory reporting, risk management, compliance, or financial analysis.

• Substantial experience in preparing and submitting regulatory reports to relevant authorities, including a deep understanding of reporting requirements, data validation, accuracy, and timeliness.

• Proven leadership skills, including managing teams responsible for regulatory reporting and mentoring team members.

• Experience in handling large datasets, ensuring data integrity, and implementing data governance practices.

• Demonstrated ability to navigate changes in regulatory requirements and implement process improvements.

• Experience in managing projects, including developing project plans, setting timelines, and overseeing implementation.
