Job Description

  • The Operation Risk and Control Manager is the Designated Compliance and Risk Officer (DCORO) of the Operations Department.
  • Provides leadership and expertise in building a strong risk management culture in Operations through training and development as well as communicating new applicable policies and guidelines to ensure compliance.
  • Identification and assessment of Operations risk management and control deficiencies/gaps. The DCORO will work closely with the Operations team in developing action plans to address identified deficiencies/gaps and improve overall control environment.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with Internal Control teams including audit, risk and compliance in the monitoring of risk and control activities to ensure implementation of a holistic risk management program is compliance with internal policies and guidelines, regulatory rules and regulations.
  • Responsible for the overall Enterprise Risk Management framework of the Operations team developing and implementing Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and also managing the Risk and Control Self Asessment (RCSA) process in partnership with Operations Management  team. 
  • Oversees the Control Issue Management (CIM) and Loss Event Database (LED) review and reporting process by performing root cause analysis and developing strategic action plans to prevent recurrence.
  • Develop/enhance policies and evaluate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure that control activities are fully-documented and are being complied through regular monthly/quarterly/annual reviews. 
  • Support Operations in ensuring adherence of all applicable banking laws, rules, regulations and internal policies, procedures and processes. 
  • Develop and utilize analytical techniques and statistical analysis in monitoring operations risk processes to meet pre-defined goals.
  • Work closely with Operations Heads in the vendor adoption and procurement process ensuring completeness and accuracy of documentation to mitigate partner and vendor risks.
  • Performs other functions that may be assigned from time to time.

Qualification

  • Knowledge in Risk and Compliance Governance focussing on Bank Operations
  • Knowledge in Payment and Settlements Operations, KYC process and Corporate Servies 
  • Knowledge in regulatory laws and regulations (BSP, DOLE)
  • Strong financial and accounting background 
  • Strong sense of initiative and work ethic 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Decision making capabilities 
  • Coaching and mentoring skills 
  • Understanding of all products and services offered by the bank
  • Strong leadership visionary in guiding the team towards operational excellence
